Next reuion message from Kathy

Hi all.

I had a long chat with Betty Fong (Cheung) of Ottawa, ON. She is Class of 65. Annette (Shan) Leung is also Class of 65. Betty said it may be a bit too early to plan now for 2008! However, since all the Chinese food in Ottawa isn't anywhere near the Chinese food in Toronto nor even Vancouver, she suggests we miss all Chinese food. She said there are plenty of Italian, Lebanese, middle-Eastern, French (specialty) food here and that's the route we'll be taking. Any objections?

Betty used to work as an outside agent for a Travel Agency. She said we can plan a 3 city tour and it will be real fun. Come to Ottawa for the Tulip Festival. Every May, Holland sends Canada a zillion planeloads of tulips. That's because during the war, Canada hosted the Dutch queen & her family from the war and the present Queen was born in Ottawa, so as a thank you, Holland sends (only Ottawa) zillions of tulips and our city is ablaze with beautiful colour - honestly, they are planted everywhere and you can walk anywhere there will be tulips. There are even designated tulip walks.

Then on to Montreal and to Quebec City. If she plans the whole trip (presumably by bus), then there is no optional tour (side-trip) to Quebec City. It will be all inclusive. You would need approx 4 - 5 days to do a whole trip = is that too much for anyone? Of course, we will all be in our 60's then (more or less) so don't want too tiring a trip!!!

1 day Ottawa
1/2 day travel to Montreal, check-in, 1/2 day sightseeing
1 day in Montreal
1/2 day travel to Quebec City, check-in, 1/2 day sightseeing
1 day in Quebec City

Total: 3 days plus 1 travel day. Of course, it can be longer... depends on what you all want. We can extend it to a week! You can also fly into Ottawa and out of Quebec City if you want for the overseas people (or for anyone having to fly into Ottawa)

Let me know your thoughts....better early than late! (or never)

Love you all.
Kathy Elarte

I vote for at least a week, and for flying into Ottowa and out of Quebec City--what we call an "open jaw" in airline lingo.
