Update on 2007 reunion

Re: Maryknoll Worldwide Reunion

- August 3 through 6, 2007

The upcoming Maryknoll Worldwide Reunion will be held from August 3 through 6, 2007. For the first time, alumnae of MSS, which is part of the Maryknoll family, will join in this tri-annual event. The reunion cruise will take place on “Monarch of the Sea”, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. The cruise ship will depart from Los Angeles and dock in Ensenada, Mexico before returning to Los Angeles.

Margaret Lung Lau thinks she's going and said that the B.C. Alumni Association has blocked 8 rooms for themselves on the "Monarch" quite separate from the Maryknoll WWR. Nora Hwang cannot say for sure that she will attend the reunion at this early stage. It all depends on her other commitments. She will probably decide at the very last minute. Amy Lo Sample would love to get together with all those attending the WWR and/or host something, whether she goes on the cruise or not. She thinks that since the WWR is taking place in her backyard, she guessed some of those attending would likely spend some time in L.A. Kitty Fan Chen will be out of the country (US) periodically between Oct 06 and May 07. But she would love to work with Amy and whoever is in Southern California, if time permits, to organize some activities for our class members when they are in LA. Some of us in HK said "Maybe".

So far, Margaret Lau and Nora Hwang would like to be excused from being the coordinators for this reunion due to travels and time constraints. However, Nora Hwang was able to get Anita Poon (Class of '64) to be the Class Rep for '64 & '65 for this WWR.

As for me, I will not be going to the WWR but would like to start the ball rolling. Would all of you please respond with your decisions by email to me before July 15 so that a head count can be made? It can be as simple as a “Yes”, “No” or “Maybe” as in the following 3 categories:

1. "Yes" for those who are going for sure -

"Can Help" if you are able to help coordinate the WWR

2. "No" for those who are not going for sure

3. "Maybe" for those who have not decided as yet

The result of the headcount will be sent to the "Yes" and "Maybe" for their further planning. I look forward to hearing from ALL of you! Thanks!
